Stretching back to 1920, the Mentone Life Saving Club, located 22 km from the Melbourne CBD, has served as a vital safety hub for beach visitors for over a century.

With plans to redevelop and refresh the club, Hansen’s Urban Planning team supported the City of Kingston (Community Buildings Department) in securing development approval, planning permits, and endorsed plans and documentation.

Thanks to Architects Bikerton Masters, their design has modernized the club while significantly improving accessibility for wheelchair users. The revamped layout also includes expanded spaces for community events and activities, enhancing the experience for all visitors and ensuring a safer, more inclusive environment in this Melbourne coastal location.
