Enduring the test of time: Devonport Foreshore Plaza
Inspired by its coastal setting, with references in the design to the pebbles, sands and marine life of the adjacent beach, the Devonport Foreshore Plaza is still in wonderful condition 12 years on from construction.
Our scope of work included bespoke design of the plaza layout and pavement, shelter structures, a new sea wall along the beachfront, playground improvements, feature lighting, car park, pathways, seating walls, furniture and planting.
Working with Devonport City Council as our client, and in collaboration with JAWS Architects, we ensured seamless integration between the two projects, with a strong emphasis on complementing each other’s design and functionality.
12 years on from construction, the project is in wonderful condition, and is well-maintained by Devonport City Council and well used by the broader Devonport community. It is a great example of the enduring quality of good landscape architecture and the skills and capabilities of Hansen’s landscape architecture team.
