We’re thrilled to announce that after 7 years from initial design work, the Gipps Street Ramp is now under construction!

The Main Yarra Trail, celebrated as one of Melbourne’s most iconic pathways, is set to undergo a makeover by replacing the old steps at the Gipps St entrance with a 200-meter-long elevated accessible ramp.

The new design not only promises a significant improvement in the usability of the trail and enjoyment of nature along the city’s edge, but also prioritises the rehabilitation of the natural river corridor landscape.

Set to be completed in 2024, we’re looking forward to the more inclusive and attractive Main Yarra Trail.
